CAREER OBJECTIVE
Employ my expertise in financial knowledge and skills in an educational environment through interacting with learners, continuous learning, and research work to enhance my learning and capability.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
Speaking and Presentation Skills
Being a good public speaker, I presented new business idea and business case solution at the interuniversity competition in front of honorable judges organized by SpaandanB and Spartans’ Communications Club respectively. Besides this, my presentations of B.B.A. and M. B. A. programs’ courses brought excellent marks for my outstanding performance. I got an opportunity to present the assigned topic on behalf of my group in the Workshop on ‘National Integrity Strategy, Service Delivery and Good Governance’ in front of honorable secretaries of Peoples Republic of Bangladesh organized by National Academy for Planning and Development. I can assimilate new knowledge and information quickly, and am very eager to capitalize them in my day to day work. I can help my students to understand the complex matter in an easier way by providing them with real-life stories and cases.
Real Life Research Experience
Recently I have completed a research paper namely ‘The impact of capital structure on the performance of microfinance institutions: Evidence from microfinance institutions of Bangladesh’ with Ms. Farzana Nasreen, Lecturer, Department of Finance, Jagannath University. This research work will contribute to the debate on capital structure and its application to a sector which has not been visited yet. This research paper will be submitted for revision shortly to be published in ‘Journal of Business Studies’ a publication of the University of Dhaka.
I have conducted a research work on ‘Financial sector liberalization, bank privatization, and efficiency: Evidence from Sonali Bank and Uttara Bank of Bangladesh’. I completed this research work in February 2014 and have achieved a plentiful knowledge about the underlying causes which have prevented nationalized commercial banks from performing well.
I conducted another research work namely ‘Impact of Working Capital Management on Firm’s Profitability (Evidence from The Fuel and Power Industry of Bangladesh)’ in 2013 with Mrs. Shabnaz Amin, Associate Professor, Department of Finance, University of Dhaka, in which we both tried to explore the association between efficiency of working capital management and profitability focusing on listed fuel and power companies in Dhaka Stock Exchange. Our research paper has been successfully published in April 2014 issue of ‘Journal of Business Studies’ a publication of the University of Dhaka.
Computer Literacy
Being a very keen computer user, I use following applications regularly: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access, Adobe Photoshop, and Minitab. Advanced use of MS Excel has been learned by me from the “Mastering Financial Modeling’ book on following tasks:
I also have expertise in using Minitab, Crystal Ball and Stata application software for analyzing numerical data to come out with critical decisions. I have taken training on SPSS application software for building my expertise for research work.
Entrepreneurship Enthusiasm and Leadership Quality
Having my passion for entrepreneurship, I participate in business plan competition and case competition regularly. I along with my team made a business plan on ‘Recycling Pet Bottles to Make Synthetic Cloth’. I am trained in solving ‘Real Business Case’ and crafting ‘Business Plan’ by Spartans’ Communications Club and SpaandanB respectively. Nowadays I assist my students in developing real-life business plans and solving business cases. I always try to keep myself updated with current economic and business issues. The task of leading my groups of academic courses at my university and role of chief class representative has boosted my leadership quality. I have gained much reputation in my class for playing a strong leadership role in organizing different class events, department festivals and interacting with faculties to share our views and opinions.
