US Ambassador to Bangladesh Mr. Peter Haas called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman today, June 02, 2022 at the latter’s office of the university.  US Embassy officials- Ms. Sharlina Hussain-Morgan & Ms. Raihana Sultana, DU Registrar Probir Kumar Sarker and Director of DU Public Relations Office Mahmood Alam were present there.

During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interest. DU VC apprised the US Ambassador of academic programs, heritages, cultures and history of Dhaka University. He said, DU always practices and upholds secularism, democratic norms, moral and humanitarian values. DU is running peacefully and its academic activities are going on smoothly on the campus. We produce graduates to cope with the societal needs. Our graduates contribute to enrich our economy and play vital role for the development of the country. Dhaka University has many MoUs with various universities in USA, he pointed out.

US Ambassador said, we always inspires Bangladeshi students to pursue their higher education in USA. The enrollment of Bangladeshi students at different universities in USA is increasing every year, he mentioned.

 The Vice-Chancellor thanked US Ambassador for his visit to Dhaka University.
