| Microbiology/virology and Immunology | Dr. Taibur Rahman’s research focuses on molecular virology, host–pathogen interactions, viral immunology, and infectious disease pathogenesis. His primary interests include HIV-1 persistence and latency, mucosal transmission, host restriction factors, and mechanisms regulating viral replication and immune responses. He is also interested in hepatitis B virus (HBV) entry, persistence, and HBV-associated hepatocellular carcinoma, including host factors and biomarkers involved in disease progression. His broader research interests include viral infections and metabolic disorders, immunometabolism, vaccine-induced immune responses, transcriptomics, single-cell RNA sequencing, and multi-omics approaches to identify novel therapeutic and vaccine targets. |
