The Department of History, University of Dhaka, has set up a ‘Kazi Shahidullah Endowment Fund’ on August 18, 2025. The Chairman of the Department of History Professor Ashfaque Hossain received a checque worth Taka one crore from Ms. Shabnam Shahidullah, wife of late Professor Kazi Shahidullah, in his office. The endowment has been set up with the aim of providing scholarships to the Honors and Masters students of the department. It will also provide financial assistance for research projects, seminars, symposiums and workshops. An annual ‘Kazi Shahidullah Memorial Lecture’ will be organized under the auspices of the endowment fund. Professor Syed Anwar Husain (Part-Time Teacher) and Professor Fakrul Alam of the English Department were present at the ceremony along with other faculty members. Professor Asha Islam Nayeem conducted the ceremony and the Chairman Professor Ashfaque Hossain thanked the donor family for setting up the generous endowment. Professor Kazi Shahidullah had served as the Chairman of the Department of History, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Chairman of the University Grants Commission.

ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ইতিহাস বিভাগে 'কাজী শহীদুল্লাহ এনডাউমেন্ট ফান্ড' গঠন করা হয়েছে। গত ১৮ আগস্ট ২০২৫ বিভাগীয় চেয়ারম্যানের কক্ষে এক কোটি টাকার একটি চেক বিভাগের চেয়ারম্যান ড. আশফাক হোসেনের নিকট হস্তান্তর করা হয়। দাতা সদস্য হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন প্রয়াত অধ্যাপক ড. কাজী শহীদুল্লাহ'র স্ত্রী শবনম শহীদুল্লাহ । কাজী শহীদুল্লাহ এনডাউমেন্ট ফান্ড-এর আওতায় ইতিহাস বিভাগের অনার্স ও মাস্টার্স শিক্ষার্থীদের বৃত্তি, শিক্ষা ও গবেষণার উদ্দেশ্যে শিক্ষার্থীদের এবং গবেষণা প্রকল্পের জন্য বিভাগীয় শিক্ষকদের আর্থিক সহায়তা প্রদান, বিভাগের একাডেমিক ও সহ-শিক্ষা কার্যক্রমের (সেমিনার/সিম্পোজিয়াম/ /শিক্ষকদের জন্য কর্মশালা ) উদ্দেশ্যে আর্থিক সহায়তা প্রদান করা হবে।  পাশাপাশি শিক্ষার্থীদের সৃজনশীল কাজের জন্য আর্থিক সহায়তাও  প্রদান করা হবে। এছাড়া প্রতি বছর কাজী শহীদুল্লাহ মেমোরিয়াল লেকচার আয়োজনের প্রস্তাব গৃহীত হয়। অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন বিভাগের খণ্ডকালীন অধ্যাপক সৈয়দ আনোয়ার হোসেন এবং ইংরেজি বিভাগের অধ্যাপক ড. ফকরুল আলমসহ বিভাগীয় শিক্ষকবৃন্দ। অনুষ্ঠান উপস্থাপনা করেন অধ্যাপক আশা ইসলাম নাঈম।  বিভাগীয় চেয়ারম্যান অধ্যাপক আশফাক হোসেন পিএইচডি দাতা সদস্যদের আন্তরিক ধন্যবাদ জ্ঞাপন করেন। উল্লেখ্য প্রয়াত ড. কাজী শহীদুল্লাহ ইতিহাস বিভাগের অধ্যাপক, কলা অনুষদের ডিন এবং ইউজিসির চেয়ারম্যান হিসেবে সফলতার সাথে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন।
