I am pleased to learn that the Science Workshop is launching its own website for the first time. At present, many members of the University of Dhaka community are not fully aware of the wide range of services and activities carried out by the Science Workshop. In this context, the introduction of a dedicated website is both timely and significant. It will serve as an effective platform for providing clear, structured, and easily accessible information to teachers, officers, and other stakeholders within the university.

The recent implementation of an automated job card system marks a significant step toward the comprehensive and systematic digital transformation of the Science Workshop. This initiative is expected to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen accountability, and improve transparency in service delivery. Continued adoption of such digital innovations will not only improve the quality and effectiveness of the Workshop's services but also align its operations with modern administrative and technical best practices.

In many developed countries, electrical appliances such as air conditioners and refrigerators are often discarded as soon as they malfunction. However, for countries with economies like ours, such practices are neither practical nor sustainable. Given budgetary constraints, it is simply not feasible to replace equipment repeatedly. In this context, the Science Workshop plays a vital and indispensable role by ensuring the repair, maintenance, and continued use of equipment over extended periods. This approach significantly extends the lifespan of valuable assets and contributes to substantial savings to the university’s overall budget.

I am particularly pleased to see that the Science Workshop is taking meaningful steps toward modernization. We are actively supporting this process through appropriate initiatives. Recently, the necessary funds have been allocated for the purchase of seven machines across five different sections of the Science Workshop. This investment reflects our commitment to strengthening its technical capacity and improving service quality. We intend to continue this support in the future to further modernize and enhance its facilities.

Our vision is to develop a Science Workshop that is advanced, modern, and fully capable of meeting the evolving demands of the time. We remain committed to taking all necessary measures to turn this vision into reality. We sincerely hope that the Science Workshop will continue its efforts to deliver maximum solutions at the lowest possible cost, thereby serving the university community with efficiency, sustainability, and excellence.
