ISRTAA Students’ Stipend Handover Ceremony Held at ISRT on May 27, 2025
The ‘ISRTAA Students’ Stipend’ handover programme was held with great enthusiasm at the Institute of Statistical Research and Training (ISRT), University of Dhaka, on May 27, 2025. This stipend, initiated by the ISRT Alumni Association (ISRTAA), was awarded this year to three first-year B.S. honours students from the Applied Statistics and Data Science program, selected based on a set of rigorous eligibility criteria.
The stipend is designed to be disbursed in three phases over the academic year, and this event marked the handover of the first instalment. The ceremony was graced by the presence of ISRT faculty members, the Vice-Chairperson of the ISRTAA Trustee Board, the President of the Executive Committee (EC) of ISRTAA, and other distinguished members of both the Trustee Board and Executive Committee.
During the event, the first phase of the stipend fund was formally handed over to the Director of ISRT, Professor Dr. Tamanna Howlader, by ISRTAA representatives. In her address, Professor Howlader expressed her heartfelt gratitude to ISRTAA and its alumni for their unwavering support, generous contributions, and continued dedication to uplifting students. Professor Dr. Israt Rayhan, President of the ISRTAA Executive Committee, reaffirmed ISRTAA’s commitment to the cause, stating that the stipend fund remains open for contributions and the Association aims to expand its support to a greater number of deserving students in the coming years.
The ISRTAA Students’ stipend stands as a testament to the enduring bond between ISRT alumni and the institute, fostering academic excellence and social responsibility.
