On April 25, 2025, students of the 5th Batch from the Department of Meteorology, University of Dhaka, participated in an educational field trip to the Department of Agrometeorology at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh. Guided by Associate Professor Dr. Fatima Akter, the visit offered students hands-on experience with meteorological instruments and their applications in agriculture and environmental studies.

The students first explored the department's instrument room, where faculty demonstrated scientific tools used for atmospheric data collection, crop growth monitoring, and plant health assessment. The group also toured the surface observatory to understand real-world meteorological observation systems.
Additionally, the students visited the advanced greenhouse facility. There, they observed temperature controlled environments, including specialized warm and cold chambers, used to simulate plant responses under diverse climatic conditions.

The group also visited the world's second largest and south Asia's largest germplasm, spanning 32 acres. It conserves over 11,200 mother plants across 200 species and was founded by Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Rahim in 1991
This field trip successfully bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, highlighting the critical role of meteorology in modern agriculture and environmental management.
