Special Seminar on the Teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) Held at the University of Dhaka
On the occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, the Center for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue and the Department of World Religions and Culture, University of Dhaka, jointly organized a special seminar titled “Teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in Building an Egalitarian Society.” The event took place on Monday, 15 September 2025, at the R. C. Majumdar Arts Auditorium, University of Dhaka.
The seminar was graced by Professor Dr. Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, as the Chief Guest. The Keynote Speaker was Maulana Muhibullah Al-Baqi An-Nadvi, Imam of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, Dhaka.
Distinguished scholars also contributed to the discussion, including Professor Dr. Mohammad Yusuf Ibn Hussain from the Department of Islamic Studies, Dr. Mohammad Abdullah Al Mahmud, Associate Professor at the Department of World Religions and Culture, and Professor Dr. Kazi Nurul Islam, the founding Chairman of the Department of World Religions and Culture.
The program began with a welcome address by Professor Dr. Md. Abu Sayem, Chairman of the Department of World Religions and Culture. The session was presided over by Professor Dr. Mohammad Elius, Director of the Center for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue. The entire event was conducted by Muhammad Sanaullah, Adjunct Lecturer of the Department and Imam of Paltan Jame Masjid.
The seminar was attended by faculty members and students of the Department of World Religions and Culture, as well as participants from other departments, making it a truly engaging and interactive academic gathering.
