The International Security Policy Lab (ISPL), HEAT 13032, Department of World Religions and Culture, University of Dhaka, successfully organised a special training programme titled “Digital Security in the Age of AI” on 8 October 2026 at the Arts Building, University of Dhaka.
The training focused on strengthening awareness of digital identity, privacy, digital footprints, misinformation, emerging threats, protection and resilience in the age of artificial intelligence.
The programme featured a series of sessions addressing different dimensions of digital security. Discussions covered identity, privacy and digital footprints; the significance of digital security for non-STEM students; the socio-political dimensions of digital security in the global context; misinformation, religion and digital security in the age of AI; practical applications of digital security knowledge; and protecting young people and building resilience in the digital age.
The sessions were conducted by distinguished speakers including Mr. Saeed Siddik, Assistant Professor, Institute of Information Technology, University of Dhaka; Debashis Das, Member of ISPL under HEAT-13032; Muktadir Rashid, Bangladesh Correspondent, The Irrawaddy; Mr. Injamam Mahbub Majumder, Lecturer, University of Dhaka; Niloy Roy, ASPM, HEAT-13032; and Prof. Dr. Md. Abu Sayem, Chairman, Department of World Religions and Culture, University of Dhaka.
The programme was moderated by Dr. Md. Didarul Islam, Director, International Security Policy Lab, and concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Eva Sadia Sa’ad, University of Dhaka.
The training provided an important platform for reflecting on how rapidly evolving digital technologies and artificial intelligence are transforming the contemporary security landscape. The discussions particularly emphasised the importance of developing informed digital practices, recognising emerging threats, critically engaging with misinformation, and strengthening resilience among young people and wider communities.
