Welcome to the Faculty of Post Graduate Medical Science and Research, University of Dhaka. The University of Dhaka, Bangladesh; has for nearly a hundred years , been dedicated to nurturing scholars and aspirant learners with the expectation that they will contribute to society through advancement of knowledge and pass it further on to new generations. Reputation of the university is recognition of its continued contribution at the highest intellectual level and service to the society both in national and international sphere. It is well known for excellence in teaching, and leadership in research in the region.

Global scenario is rapidly changing with its inconceivable impact on the role of professionals like physicians, in terms of patient management and research. Challenge for medical educationists now for aspirant students is to help generate intellectual ability and facilitate to acquire required skills to work in the community where they will be valued for both their specialized knowledge and capability to research.

In keeping with this philosophy the Faculty of Post Graduate Medical Science and Research is committed to ensure that the academics and learners are well informed of its goals and activities. From the commencement of the Post graduate courses in this university efforts were made to maintain the courses updated and consistent with the recent and future trends in medical education. Precise measures are taken to incorporate contents and activities to ensure achieve desired outcome in terms of intellectual ability, professional skill and humanistic attitude. Strict devotion is paid to these objectives in designing assessment procedures.

Faculty of Post Graduate Medical Science & Research paves access to higher education in medicine. A wide range of courses has been designed in almost all discipline of Medicine to accommodate the demands of learners, of time and of community. Recent addition of courses in different specialize branches will hopefully be attractive to inquisitive and demanding learners and researchers in different fields of medicine. Our challenge is adapting to national needs and global development focusing on making a difference to people’s health. The programs are intended to provide unique educational experiences directed to development of an individual and obtain capabilities to solve real world, open ended problems with creativity and participation in innovative research.

The faculty now offer MD ( Doctor of Medicine ) ; MS ( Master of Surgery ) ; M Phil ( Master of Philosophy) in Medical sciences and Public Health sciences; MPH ( Master in Public Health sciences ) and Diploma in different clinical subjects. MMEd (Masters in Medical Education) a two year program is provided for yeachers in medical and allied heath sciences teachers

There is also Ph D program for prospective researchers.
Medical graduates from all over the world are eligible to join these courses.
