A new trust foundation titled “7 March Trust Foundation” has been set up at the Ruqayyah Hall of Dhaka University (DU). Prof. Dr. Nazma Shaheen, Provost of the Ruquyyah Hall handed over a cheque for Tk. 50 lac to DU Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin today July 30, 2017 at the Vice-Chancellor’s office to set up this trust foundation. It may be mentioned that this amount has been collected from different internal sources of the hall.

Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique, Deans of different faculties, Acting Registrar and House Tutors of Ruqayyah Hall were present on this occasion.

Out of the income of this donation, every year one meritorious female student of Ruqayyah Hall who will secure the highest CGPA in Honors final examinations from different departments will be awarded “Bangabandhu Gold Medal.” Besides, some other meritorious female students of the hall will be given “Bangabandhu scholarship”. Three more female students who will secure the first, second and third position respectively in the essay competition on ‘Bangabandhu and Bangladesh’ will be awarded prizes.  

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Arefin Siddique thanked the Provost of Ruqayyah Hall for setting up the “7 March Trust Foundation” at the university. He also paid his glowing tribute to the memory of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He hoped that the students would be highly benefited and encouraged by this foundation.
