A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Office of Students Counseling and Guidance (SCGO) of Dhaka University (DU) and Dhaka University Alumni Association (DUAA) was signed today March 21, 2023 at the VC’s Lounge for promoting psychological wellbeing of DU students. Vice-Chancellor of DU Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman presided over the signing ceremony.

Treasurer of DU Prof. Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed and Secretary General of DUAA Molla Md. Abu Kawser signed the MoU on behalf of their respective side. Director of SCGO Prof. Dr. Mahjabeen Haque, DUAA President Anwar-ul Alam Chowdhury, former President of DUAA  A. K. Azad, some other faculty members and alumni were present on this occasion.

According to the MoU, SCGO of DU and DUAA will jointly conduct collaborative awareness and training programs on mental health and psychological wellbeing of DU students. Besides, Tele counseling and in-person or face to face mental health services will be given to DU students. DUAA will also provide financial and technical supports to SCGO in this regard.

DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman thanked the DUAA authorities for signing the MoU. This initiative will play an effective role in ensuring the mental health of DU students, he hoped. This MoU will help build capacity and strengthen mental health related services of Students Counseling and Guidance Office, he also hoped.
