The Department of Information Science and Library Management (ISLM), University of Dhaka, organized a farewell event for its faculty member, Professor Dr. Md. Anwarul Islam, who will join the University of Tennessee, Knoxville,USA as a Fulbright Visiting Scholar from September 1, 2026.
Professor Dr. Md. Anwarul Islam has been selected for the prestigious Fulbright Visiting Fellowship for the 2026-2027 academic year, funded by the U.S. Department of State. He is the first recipient of a Fulbright scholarship from the Department of Information Science and Library Management, University of Dhaka. As a Fulbright Visiting Scholar, Dr. Islam will conduct research at the School of Information Sciences, University of Tennessee, Knoxville. His research will focus on information ethics in the age of artificial intelligence, an increasingly important area in the rapidly evolving digital landscape.
The Chairman of the Department, Professor Dr. Md. Roknuzzaman, along with other faculty members, attended the farewell event and celebrated Dr. Islam’s achievement. The members of the ISLM Department expressed their pride in his success and extended their best wishes for his continued success in his academic and research career.
