Research Interest
Subject Description
Microeconomics I am specifically interested in game theory and its applications.
Labor Economics

I am interested in the linkages between education and work in the context of Bangladesh. This will partly be the focus of my PhD.

Development Economics I am particularly interested in Human Capital Development.
Behavioral Economics I am enthralled by this subject, especially since I am very interested in Psychology and its marriage with Economics.
Research Methodology I am interested in learning about and using different types of methodologies in my work.
Education and Educational Research

I am interested in the aspects and dynamics of education systems, and would love to be involved in research concerning the education system of Bangladesh. I am specifically interested in employability skills and the linkage between different education streams and the labour market. I plan to pursue my PhD on this topic. I am keen to conduct research- quantitative, qualitative or mixed methods- in the field of education in Bangladesh.

As a lecturer at the Department of Economics, University of Dhaka, I have been teaching the courses ‘Research Methodology’ and ‘Behavioral Economics’ to the 4th year undergraduate students at the department with my co-teacher Dr. Atonu Rabbani, and the course ‘Intermediate Microeconomics’ to the 2nd year undergraduate students with my co-teacher Dr. Nazma Begum. In the case of both ‘Research Methodology’ and ‘Behavioural Economics’, we have designed/re-designed and implemented new and modern curriculums.
