Message from the Chairman

I am honored and feel very privileged to be in the position of Chairman of the Department currently. I am always looking forward to working with our students, colleagues and staff to result in the best it can be. I have an open-door policy and urge all stakeholders to take this opportunity to discuss any issue with me so that we can move forward together.

The Department was initiated in 2004 in the Faculty of Business Studies to prepare skilled and qualified human professionals specialized in the arena of banking and insurance. After two decades, it’s great to look back to the success of the Department.

Till today 1,550 graduates have earned the prestigious BBA and MBA degrees from this Department. Other than that 1000 graduates achieved professional degree, 12 MPhil and 10 PhDs. They are serving the wide industry in Bangladesh and around the world for a better future. We participated in a Survey for Quality Education where the employers of our graduates expressed their satisfaction in recruiting them. They have also recommended some pathways for development that we happily accepted and are incorporating as a part of continuous improvement. The Department, thus, has a tradition of thirst for development which was set by its renowned teachers. I wish the Department will grow further to advance its image.

We truly have a fantastic program with a supportive and involved group of creative and capable faculty members, dedicated and skillful staff, excellent resources and the most fantastic students to work with. Our classrooms are world-standard designed with all digital facilities. We have a full-fledged computer lab too. We have a Club for the students to culture their creativity. Also have an Alumni Association to keep network with our graduates. Department has a double peer-reviewed Journal with DOI number and publishes twice each year regularly. Our website is fully operative and all notices are reachable by all.

I congratulate all the stakeholders of the Department as there is every reason to be proud of it.
