About the Institute of Energy

Institute of Renewable Energy, University of Dhaka was first established in 2011 with a view to conduct academic and research activities in the field of renewable energy as well as to develop skilled workforce for the emerging energy sector of Bangladesh. Later in 2013, with the approval of the Syndicate (meeting held on 10.11.2013) of University of Dhaka, the name of the institute was changed to Institute of Energy. From 2011-2012 session the institute is conducting MS in Renewable Energy Technology (MRET) course and from 2016-2017 Professional MS in Renewable Energy Technology (PMRET) course.
