Department of Microbiology Hosts “Micro Indoor Games 2026” and Winter Pitha Festival
The Department of Microbiology at University of Dhaka successfully organized the much-anticipated Micro Indoor Games 2026 alongside the Winter Pitha Festival on January 27–28, 2026.
Arranged by the outgoing Master’s batch, the two-day event transformed the department into a vibrant space of friendly competition, cultural celebration, and community engagement. The program commenced with an inaugural ceremony in the departmental auditorium, followed by a range of indoor games including Chess, Carrom, Ludo, Table Tennis, Cards, and eSports such as eFootball and Need for Speed.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and staff, highlighting its inclusive spirit. Parallel to the games, a lively food festival featured a wide variety of traditional winter pithas and popular homemade dishes, attracting large crowds.
Creative initiatives such as a Mehendi art booth and an “Anonymous Letters” stall added a unique dimension to the celebration. The event concluded with a prize-giving ceremony, where winners from different categories were awarded for their achievements.
