The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), University of Dhaka organized an Induction Workshop for Newly Recruited Faculty Members on 30 September 2026 at the Nawab Nabab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban Auditorium, University of Dhaka.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Professor Dr. Abdus Salam, Honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic), University of Dhaka, as the Chief Guest; Professor Dr. Abdullah-Al-Mamun, Member, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh, as the Keynote Speaker; and Professor Dr. Md. Abul Kalam Sarker, Dean, Faculty of Arts, University of Dhaka, as the Special Guest. Professor Dr. S. M. Hafizur Rahman, Director, IQAC, University of Dhaka delivered the Welcome Address. Professor Dr. Md. Saiful Alam, Professor Dr. Md. Wahadoszamen and Dr. Mustak Ibn Ayub, Additional Director, IQAC, University of Dhaka were also present at the program.
The academic sessions covered a range of important topics, including The History of Dhaka University; The Dhaka University Order, 1973: Governance and Autonomy; Curriculum and Teaching-Learning in Higher Education; Examination System of Dhaka University; Assessment in Higher Education; and Promotion, Leave & Career Progression. A keynote session on “Maintaining Ethics as a University Teacher” also highlighted the importance of professional ethics and responsibility in academic life.
The workshop brought together newly recruited faculty members for an engaging orientation on academic life, professional responsibilities, and institutional practices at the University of Dhaka. The program concluded with a Certificate Giving Ceremony.
