International e-Conference on Celebrating 100 years of the University of Dhaka: Reflections from the International Alumni

Call for Abstracts

The year 2021 is significant for both Bangladesh and the University of Dhaka (DU) as both will cross milestones then—Bangladesh its 50th year, and the university its 100th one. The two are, of course, intertwined in all sorts of ways. DU started its journey on July 1, 1921 and has contributed immensely to the making of an educated, alert and articulate populace. Proud DU graduates have also been contributing to global knowledge formation through scholarship and research. DU alumni have been bridging the north-south divide and making worthwhile contributions in non-academic as well as academic domains. They have been brand ambassadors for Bangladesh too, representing their country and creating a positive image of Bangladesh through their merit and hard work. This international e-Conference will provide an opportunity for DU alumni to connect with their alma mater and participate in its centenary events.

The Honorable Prime Minister of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, an esteemed alumnus of the University of Dhaka, will grace the inaugural session of the International e-Conference on Thursday 21 January 2021 as the Chief Guest.
