Department of Finance, University of Dhaka, hosted an online session on Project Paper Guidelines Briefing via the Zoom platform on the evening of April 21, 2026. Commencing at 8:00 PM, the two-hour event saw active participation from MBA in Finance, 26th Batch, all eager to master the complexities of thesis and project paper writing.
The session was led by a distinguished panel of experts who provided a comprehensive roadmap for academic research. Professor Shabnaz Amin (Auditi) opened the session by outlining the essential structural components of a thesis, emphasizing the importance of identifying research gaps and maintaining academic integrity through proper citation and the ethical use of AI tools. Following this, Hossain Ahmed Enamul Huda delivered a rigorous technical briefing on empirical methodologies, focusing on diagnostic tests for cross-sectional data—such as VIF and heteroscedasticity—and advanced time-series techniques including ARCH/GARCH modeling and co-integration analysis.
The academic depth of the workshop was further enriched by Professor Dr. Muhammad Saifuddin Khan , who provided specialized insights into panel data analysis, guiding students through the nuances of fixed and random effects models and the necessity of robust standard errors. To conclude the session, Mohd. Anisul Islam delivered a practical, hands-on demonstration using one of his published research papers as a blueprint. He detailed the critical elements of a successful research proposal and illustrated how high-quality academic writing serves as a powerful tool for professional development and career advancement.
This collaborative effort ensured that students left the virtual session equipped with both the theoretical knowledge and the practical resources needed to excel in their upcoming projects.
