Code Samurai was established in 2019 through a partnership between the Computer Science and Engineering Department of University of Dhaka and Bangladesh Japan Information Technology (BJIT). While traditional hackathons and programming contests serve as arenas for showcasing prowess in code and problem-solving, code Samurai transcends convention. CODE SAMURAI 2024-THE GRAND CELEBRATION WITH GREAT ENTHUSIASM
Code Samurai 2024, the much-anticipated sequel to the hugely successful events in 2019 and 2022, has commenced its most recent journey.
In the vibrant heart of Bangladesh, a beacon of innovation blazes forth. Over 400 teams, a mosaic of 1200+ bright minds, have embarked on a journey of discovery and competition. The "Code Samurai 2024" opening ceremony will be held on May 10, 2024, at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Dhaka. The program is jointly organized by the Department of CSE, University of Dhaka and Bangladesh Japan Information Technology (BJIT), supported by Globalgeeks and several Japanese IT companies.
Students from different universities all over Bangladesh will participate in the contest. Professor Dr. M Lutfar Rahman, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University and the founder Chairman, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Dhaka, will grace the event as the Chief guest. Professor Dr. M. Kaykobad, Distinguished Professor, Brac University will present as special guest. Academicians, IT professionals, and representatives from Japanese companies will also attend the event. Professor Dr. Hafiz Md. Hasan Babu, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, University of Dhaka will preside over the ceremony.
The closing ceremony of the "Code Samurai 2024" scheduled to take place on May 11, 2024, at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban, University of Dhaka. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Dhaka, in collaboration with Bangladesh Japan Information Technology (BJIT) and with the generous support of BJIT Inc. and Globalgeeks and several prominent Japanese IT companies, is excited to bring this event to fruition. It is with great honor and priviledge that we have the opportunity to welcome highly esteemed Japanese organizations such as JICA, JETRO, and the Japanese Embassy, as well as respected representatives from forty additional notable Japanese enterprises.
Mr. Salman F Rahman, Honourable Adviser for Private Industry and Investment to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, will grace the event as the Chief Guest. H.E. Mr. Iwama Kiminori, honorable Ambassador of the Embassy of Japan, and Rear Admiral A.A.Mamun Chowdhury, Chairman, Payra Port Authority, will present as the special guests, and also several delegates from reputed Japanese organizations, academicians, and IT professionals will attend the event. Professor Dr. A. S. M. Maksud Kamal, Vice Chancellor of the University of Dhaka will preside over the ceremony.
