The Faculty of Engineering and Technology, University of Dhaka, is set to facilitate the Global South–Japan Tech Talent Internship (GS-JTI) Student Seminar on Monday, 5 October 2026, bringing together University of Dhaka students and leading Japanese companies to explore internship and career opportunities in Japan.
Supported by the Government of Japan, GS-JTI is an international initiative designed to connect talented students and recent graduates from the Global South with Japanese companies through technology-focused internships. The program particularly focuses on emerging areas such as Information Technology (IT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), engineering, and semiconductors, providing participants with opportunities to gain hands-on professional experience in Japan.
The event will be held from 2:15 PM to 6:00 PM at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban, University of Dhaka, with doors opening at 2:00 PM.
Students and recent graduates from STEM disciplines, including Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), Institute of Information Technology (IIT), and Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering, will participate in the program.
The first session will feature an introduction to the GS-JTI program, followed by presentations from eight visiting Japanese companies. This will be followed by round-table discussions, providing students with an opportunity to interact directly with company representatives and learn about internships, career pathways, industry expectations, in-demand technical skills, and opportunities to work with Japanese companies.
