CALL FOR PAPERS

The essence of faith is ingrained in human life, with beliefs and faiths shaped by the social environment we live in. Society is shaped by norms, values, ethics, and religion, and individuals must navigate and conform to these norms in their actions. In the realm of religion, Sufism holds the purification of the soul and the quest for union with the Divine as its central focus, which can be found in various faiths and religions beyond Islam, due to its expansion to different territories and social contexts. Understanding Sufism in the context of societal changes requires a sociological perspective, examining how Sufi beliefs exist in the human mind and how their interpretation carries sociological significance.

To truly understand society and its inhabitants, a bottom-up view of human relationships based on social structure is essential. This necessitates dialogues among scholars to foster integration and bring people together. Hence, the chosen programs of the international e-conference Sociology of Sufism, “Perfected Humanity and Divine Quest for Social Harmony” (ICSSPHDQSH-2023), aim to address the challenges faced by the global community over the years. By dissecting the social structure, the conference seeks to formulate a humanist approach to Sufism that can foster wider integration and contribute to the realization of a harmonious human society. The conference provides a platform for scholars, resource persons, and researchers to step out of traditional sociological perspectives, re-evaluate existing theories and concepts, and explore the relationship between societal values, principles of Sufism, and the construction of a more integrated human society.

Basic format of manuscripts:

1. All articles must contain an abstract of 200-300 words and up to 6 keywords. (Times New Roman, 11 pt, justified.)

2. All manuscripts must be in MS Word format – double spaced with one inch (2.5 cm) margin, Times New Roman, 12 pt. (Please upload MS Word)

3. Quotations, notes, tables and figures should be prepared in accordance with APA 7th edition

Paper Submission:

Please, register and submit your abstract and full paper according to the guideline at https://conference.diri.org.bd

Additional Guidelines:

An English translated version of the abstract should be provided for papers which are not written in English.

Publication

All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings and will be delivered during the conference. Selected papers will be published in Darul Irfan Research Journal (ISSN: 2710-3595 Vol. 4, Issue 1 print) after peer review process.

For Paper Presenters:

The international paper presenters will be provided with accommodation (only for 10 & 11 September, 2023) and local transport facilities by the organizers but there will be no funding for travel expenses.
