Prof. Dr. Kawashima Hiroto of Shibaura Institute of Technology, Japan paid a courtesy call on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Obaidul Islam today March 25, 2026 at the latters of the university. Dean of the Faculty of Science of DU Prof Dr. Abdus Salam was present on this occasion.

During the meeting they discussed the possibilities of strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programs on air pollution, environment and climate change between Dhaka University and Shibaura Institute of Technology, Japan.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Obaidul Islam stressed the need for expansion of joint collaborative academic and research programs on air pollution, environment and climate change with renowned universities around the world to make the environment safe. Besides, he expressed his willingness to undertake more joint collaborative research programs with different universities across the world to upgrade education and research.
