Prof. David Lyon of Kings College London and Prof.  Jean Seaton of the University of Westminster, London paid a courtesy call on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan today January 15, 2026 at the latter’s office of the university.

During the meeting they discussed various issues including development of academic and research activities at Dhaka University. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan apprised the guests of a brief history of Dhaka University as well as its congenial academic atmosphere during his administrative period.  He stressed the need for expansion of joint collaborative academic and research programs among Dhaka University and renowned universities across the world to enhance the quality of higher education. We are relentlessly trying to make progress in the fields of higher education, he added. ‘We have taken various initiatives to improve DU position in global university rankings’, he also mentioned.
