A three-member delegation led by Prof. Dr. Lin Zhang of Beihang University, China called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Obaidul Islam today June 11, 2026 at the latter’s office of the university. Others team members were Prof. Dr. Jingnong Weng and Mrs. Jianwei Sun of the same university. Prof. Dr. Md. Kamrujjaman of DU Mathematics Department was present on this occasion.

During the meeting they discussed the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programs between Dhaka University and Beihang University, China. They agreed to sign a MoU in this regard soon.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Obaidul Islam said, the historical relationship between Bangladesh and China has been prevailing for long years. Bangladeshi students go to China every year for pursuing higher study, he pointed out. This bilateral ties between Bangladesh and China will be strengthened further in the days to come through education and research, he hoped.  

Later, the Chinese delegation members paid a courtesy call on DU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Dr. Abdus Salam at his office.
