Dr. Taslima Yasmin is an Associate Professor at the Department of Law of the University of Dhaka. She has conducted significant legal and policy researches mainly in the area of gender and law. She has received her PhD degree from Brunel University, London and LLM from the University College London (UCL) UK under the prestigious Chevening Scholarship. She has extensively published on issues incuding labour rights, access to justice, gender based violence, child rights and minority rights. Dr. Yasmin has been actively engaged in several civil soicety advocacy movements relating to legal and policy reform and is afficilated with a number of rights based organizations in voluntary capacity. She also regularly advises UN and other inetrnatioanl development agencies on issues relating to gender, child rights, and labour rights.
