French Expert paid a courtesy call on DU VC
Dr. Tonia Astrid Capuano, an Expert in oceanography of France paid a courtesy call on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Obaidul Islam today April 28, 2026 at the latters office of the university.
Director of International Centre for Ocean Governance (ICOG) of DU Dr. K M Azam Chowdhury was present on this occasion.
During the meeting they discussed the possibilities of strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programs among Dhaka University and different universities in Europe. They also stressed the need for undertaking more joint collaborative academic and research programs among Dhaka University and European universities. They agreed to sign a MoU soon between Dhaka University and CNRS of France.
It may be mentioned that Dr. Tonia Astrid Capuano, an Expert in oceanography of France has been working as a Visiting Fellow at International Centre for Ocean Governance (ICOG) of DU for 3 years. She has also been playing an effective role in maintaining communication and undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programs among Dhaka University and different universities in Europe. She is playing an important role in strengthening relationship among Dhaka University and various European universities including France and Italy.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Obaidul Islam thanked the guest for her support and cooperation in improving research quality of DU students. This cooperation will be continued in the days to come, he hoped.
