“Is Koda a Mixed Language?”—শীর্ষক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভাষাতাত্ত্বিক আলোচনায় মুখরিত হলো ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ভাষাবিজ্ঞান বিভাগের নিয়মিত মাসিক সেমিনার।

১০ আগস্ট ২০২৬ তারিখে অনুষ্ঠিত এ সেমিনারে প্রবন্ধ উপস্থাপন করেন কর্নেল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের গবেষক ও অ্যাকাডেমিক প্রোগ্রামের কো-অর্ডিনেটর ড. আহমেদ শামীম। তাঁর উপস্থাপনায় কোডা ভাষার ভাষাতাত্ত্বিক বৈশিষ্ট্য এবং এটিকে একটি মিশ্র ভাষা হিসেবে বিবেচনা করার সম্ভাবনা ও সংশ্লিষ্ট বিভিন্ন দিক নিয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ আলোচনা উঠে আসে। অনুষ্ঠানে বিভাগের শিক্ষকবৃন্দ এবং বিভিন্ন বর্ষের শিক্ষার্থীরা অংশগ্রহণ করেন। প্রবন্ধ উপস্থাপনার পর একটি প্রাণবন্ত ও জ্ঞানগর্ভ প্রশ্নোত্তর ও মতবিনিময় পর্ব অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। এ পর্বে শিক্ষক ও শিক্ষার্থীরা প্রবন্ধের বিষয়বস্তু ও ভাষাতাত্ত্বিক বিভিন্ন দিক নিয়ে প্রশ্ন ও মতামত তুলে ধরেন। বক্তা তাঁদের প্রশ্নের বিস্তারিত ও যুক্তিনির্ভর উত্তর প্রদান করেন। সেমিনারটি ভাষাতাত্ত্বিক গবেষণা, ভাষাগত বৈচিত্র্য এবং মিশ্র ভাষা-সংক্রান্ত আলোচনাকে সমৃদ্ধ করার পাশাপাশি শিক্ষক-শিক্ষার্থীদের মধ্যে জ্ঞান ও মতবিনিময়ের একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পরিসর তৈরি করে। (The regular monthly seminar of the Department of Linguistics, University of Dhaka, featured an engaging and insightful discussion on the topic “Is Koda a Mixed Language?”

10 August 2026, the seminar featured a paper presentation by Dr. Ahmed Shamim, a researcher and Academic Program Coordinator at Cornell University. His presentation explored the linguistic characteristics of Koda and examined the possibility of classifying it as a mixed language, highlighting several important aspects of its linguistic structure and development.The seminar was attended by faculty members of the Department and students from different academic years. Following the presentation, an engaging and intellectually stimulating question-and-answer and discussion session was held.
