Faculty of Engineering and Technology
University of Dhaka

The Faculty of Engineering and Technology at the University of Dhaka was established in 2008 to meet the growing technological demands of society. At present, the faculty comprises five departments: Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, and Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering. Since its inception, the faculty has been continuously advancing research and education in the fields of engineering and technology. Each year, it attracts some of the brightest students who secure top merit positions in the University of Dhaka admission tests. 

To recognize and encourage academic and research excellence, the faculty confers the Dean’s Award upon outstanding students and faculty members. Students securing a CGPA of 3.75 or above out of 4.00, without appearing in any improvement examinations in any course and maintaining over 80% class attendance, are eligible for this prestigious recognition. Among the eligible candidates, the student achieving the highest CGPA from each department in each academic year is selected for the Dean’s Award.

I am delighted to announce that this distinguished award will also be presented to our esteemed faculty members in recognition of their outstanding contributions to research, teaching and co-curricular engagement during the academic years 2020-2021, 2021-2022, 2022-2023, 2023-2024, and 2024-2025. A total of 44 students from the 2020-2021, 2021-2022, and 2022-2023 sessions, representing the five departments, are receiving the Dean’s Award for their exceptional academic performance in the B.Sc. Engineering program. In addition, 30 faculty members are being honored for their remarkable contributions.

I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the awardees-both students and faculty members-for their brilliant achievements. I wish them continued success in their academic and professional pursuits. The faculty also expresses sincere appreciation to all faculty members for their dedicated guidance and to the parents and guardians of the awardees for their constant support and encouragement.

The Faculty of Engineering and Technology has emerged as a center of excellence in engineering education and research, making significant contributions to technological advancement both nationally and globally. As we move forward, the faculty remains committed to fostering innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and leadership among students and researchers. 

I believe that the combined efforts of our students, faculty members, and stakeholders will continue to uphold the proud legacy of the University of Dhaka, driving progress through knowledge, creativity, and technology. Together, we aim to build a future where engineering and innovation play a central role in shaping a sustainable and prosperous Bangladesh.
