CIDU Joins China Book Corner Launch and "Reading China" Youth Exchange 达卡大学孔子学院协办中国图书中心揭牌仪式暨“我读中国”青年交流会
On May 11, 2025, the Confucius Institute at University of Dhaka (CIDU) participated in the unveiling ceremony of the China Book Corner at the National Library of Bangladesh, alongside the "Reading China" youth exchange event. The event was attended by Mr Du Zhanyuan, President of China International Communications Group (CICG); Mr Yao Wen, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh; Mr Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, Advisor of Ministry of Cultural Affairs of Bangladeshi and other distinguished guests. The event was sponsored by CICG, the Ministry of Cultural Affairs of Bangladesh, and the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh; organized by the CICG Center for Cultural Exchange and the Department of Archives and Library of Bangladesh; and co-organized by the Confucius Institute at University of Dhaka.
The event opened with a bilingual performance by CIDU’s Shanhai Chinese Chorus. During the youth exchange session, six young representatives from China and Bangladesh delivered speeches. Ms. Nilu Akter, a Chinese language teacher from CIDU, shared insights into Chinese tea culture. She conveyed the philosophical values of harmony, respect, and peace embodied in the tea ceremony. She linked Chinese tea culture to Bangladeshi hospitality traditions, emphasizing that “making friends through tea” is an important bridge for cultural exchange between the two countries.
The China Book Corner, a collaborative project by CICG and Bangladeshi partners, was officially inaugurated. Mr. Du highlighted its role in fostering cultural ties, especially during the 50th anniversary of China-Bangladesh diplomatic relations. Mr. Farooki praised the initiative as a milestone and advocated for expanded cultural cooperation.
Future plans for the Book Corner include reading clubs, lectures, and exhibitions to further strengthen bilateral exchanges under the Belt and Road Initiative.
2025年5月11日，达卡大学孔子学院师生受邀参加在孟加拉国国家图书馆举行的“中国图书中心揭牌仪式暨‘我读中国'中孟青年交流会”。中国外文局局长杜占元、中国驻孟加拉国大使姚文、孟加拉国文化顾问法鲁基、文化部常秘等嘉宾出席活动。本次活动由中国外文局、孟加拉国文化部、中国驻孟加拉国大使馆联合主办，中国外文局文化传播中心与孟加拉国档案与图书局共同承办，达卡大学孔子学院协办。

活动伊始，达卡大学孔子学院“山海中文合唱团”以中孟双语歌曲精彩开场，赢得了现场观众的热烈掌声。在随后的青年交流环节，来自中国和孟加拉国的六位青年代表进行了发言。达卡大学孔子学院本土教师妮鲁（Ms. Nilu Akter）结合自身在中国留学的经历，分享了她对中国茶文化的理解和感悟。她以生动的语言讲述了茶道中蕴含的和谐、尊重与宁静的哲学思想，并将中国茶文化与孟加拉国的待客之道相联系，强调“以茶会友”是两国文化交流的重要纽带。

作为本次活动的重要环节，孟加拉国中国图书中心正式揭牌。该中心由中国外文局与孟方合作设立，旨在为孟加拉国民众提供了解中国文化的窗口。中国外文局局长杜占元表示，今年是中孟建交50周年和中孟人文交流年。为进一步落实好两国领导人会晤的重要成果，中孟双方携手设立中国图书中心并举行“我读中国”中孟青年交流活动，希望藉此深化两国人文交往、文明互鉴，为中孟世代友好和共同发展汇聚力量与智慧。他指出，书籍是人类文明传播和交流互鉴的重要载体。希望青年朋友们以书为伴，以文载道，在阅读和交流中增进对彼此文化的理解，共同为中孟文明永续发展注入青春活力。
法鲁基表示，长久以来，孟中都是彼此信赖的友好伙伴，此次建设中国图书中心，是落实两国领导人会晤精神的重要成果，也是孟中人文合作的典型优秀案例。未来，希望孟中双方继续深化合作，加强在人文领域的交流，拓展在新媒体、电影等方面的多样化合作。
未来，图书中心还将举办文化交流活动，如读书会、讲座和展览，为两国学者、文化界人士和普通民众搭建互动平台。这一举措不仅有助于推动中孟人文交流，也将为“一带一路”框架下的民心相通注入新动力。
