As part of the continuous student development program, the BBA 28th Batch of the Department of Marketing, University of Dhaka, successfully conducted an industrial visit to the headquarters of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC at Kaliakoir, Gazipur on May 2, 2026.
This excursion was specifically designed for MKT-412 ‘Product Planning and Development’ course to bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world industrial innovation.

Walton, a premier Bangladeshi multinational and a leader in consumer electronics and automotive manufacturing, provided a comprehensive look into its state-of-the-art business units, including electromechanical products such as refrigerator, air conditioning, television and home appliances.

This initiative aims to extend learning beyond the traditional classroom by providing students with a practical understanding of large-scale manufacturing, research and development, and global branding strategies by exploring corporate culture, professional ethics and the competitive dynamics of a Bangladeshi company in the global market.

The visit was organized and led by Professor Zakir Hossain Bhuiyan, PhD, who provided expert guidance throughout the tour. The delegation was also honored by the presence of the Chairman of the Department, Professor Serajul Hoque, PhD, underlining the department's commitment to experiential learning.

We wish to express our sincere gratitude to the management and staff of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC for their exceptional hospitality and for providing our students with a truly immersive professional experience. This visit has significantly enriched our students' understanding of how a Bangladeshi enterprise successfully competes on a global scale.

The Department of Marketing looks forward to further strengthening this institutional partnership, fostering future collaborations that continue to shape the next generation of marketing leaders.
