আন্তর্জাতিক পরিমণ্ডলে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের দৃশ্যমানতা বৃদ্ধি এবং গবেষণাক্ষেত্রে অসাধারণ অবদানের স্বীকৃতিস্বরূপ গুগল স্কলার প্রোফাইলে ২,০০০ বা তদূর্ধ্ব উদ্ধৃতি (Citation) অর্জনকারী ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ৬২ জন শিক্ষক ও গবেষককে সম্মাননা প্রদান করা হয়েছে। সম্মাননাপ্রাপ্ত গবেষকদের মধ্যে রয়েছেন শিল্পকলার ইতিহাস বিভাগের অধ্যাপক ড. শেখ মনির উদ্দিন। তাঁর গবেষণাকর্মের উল্লেখযোগ্য প্রভাব ও একাডেমিক অবদানের স্বীকৃতিস্বরূপ এই সম্মাননা প্রদান করা হয়।
২৭ আগস্ট ২০২৬ তারিখে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের নবাব নওয়াব আলী চৌধুরী সিনেট ভবনে আয়োজিত এক অনুষ্ঠানে সম্মাননাপ্রাপ্ত শিক্ষক ও গবেষকদের হাতে সম্মাননা প্রদান করা হয়। অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক ড. এ বি এম ওবায়দুল ইসলাম। ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রো-ভাইস চ্যান্সেলর (শিক্ষা) অধ্যাপক ড. আবদুস সালাম অনুষ্ঠানে সভাপতিত্ব করেন।
গবেষণা ও জ্ঞানচর্চায় গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অবদানের স্বীকৃতিস্বরূপ অধ্যাপক ড. শেখ মনির উদ্দিনের এই অর্জন শিল্পকলার ইতিহাস বিভাগ, ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়-এর জন্য বিশেষভাবে তাৎপর্যপূর্ণ। শিল্পকলার ইতিহাস বিভাগ তাঁর এই স্বীকৃতির জন্য আন্তরিক অভিনন্দন জ্ঞাপন করছে এবং ভবিষ্যৎ গবেষণা ও একাডেমিক কর্মকাণ্ডের উত্তরোত্তর সাফল্য কামনা করছে।
In recognition of outstanding contributions to research and enhancing the visibility of the University of Dhaka in the international academic arena, 62 teachers and researchers of the University who have received 2,000 or more citations on their Google Scholar profiles have been honoured.
Among the distinguished recipients is Professor Dr. Shake Manir Uddin, Department of Art History, University of Dhaka. The honour recognises his significant contributions to research and scholarship.
A ceremony was held on 27 August 2026 at the Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building of the University of Dhaka, where the distinguished teachers and researchers were formally honoured. The ceremony was attended by the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Dhaka, Professor Dr. A. B. M. Obaidul Islam, as the Chief Guest. The event was presided over by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education), Professor Dr. Abdus Salam.
