গত ১২ মে, ২০২৬ খ্রি. তারিখে আয়োজিত ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের কলা অনুষদভুক্ত ভাষাবিজ্ঞান বিভাগের নিয়মিত মাসিক সেমিনারে প্রবন্ধ উপস্থাপন করেন হেলসিনকি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ভাষাবিজ্ঞান বিভাগের অধ্যাপক ড. এরিকা স্যান্ডম্যান। তাঁর উপস্থাপিত প্রবন্ধের শিরোনাম “The Grammar of Knowledge in Sino-Tibetan : A Typological Overview “। তাঁর আলোচনায় ভাষাবিজ্ঞানে টাইপোলজিক্যাল ধারায় গবেষণার বিষয়ে আলোকপাত করা হয় এবং এর অংশ হিসেবে চিনা-তিব্বতি ভাষাপরিবারে এভিডেন্সিয়ালিটি কীভাবে ব্যাকরণিক উপাদান হিসেবে কাজ করে তা ব্যাখ্যা করা হয়।

সেমিনারে আহ্বায়ক ছিলেন ভাষাবিজ্ঞান বিভাগের অধ্যাপক ড. সৈয়দ শাহরিয়ার রহমান। অনুষ্ঠানে বিভাগের শিক্ষকবৃন্দ এবং বিভিন্ন বর্ষের শিক্ষার্থীরা অংশগ্রহণ করেন। উপস্থাপনার পর একটি প্রাণবন্ত প্রশ্নোত্তর পর্ব অনুষ্ঠিত হয়, যেখানে অংশগ্রহণকারীরা প্রবন্ধের বিষয়-সম্পর্কিত বিভিন্ন প্রশ্ন উত্থাপন করেন এবং বক্তা সেগুলোর বিস্তারিত উত্তর প্রদান করেন।

The regular monthly seminar of the Department of Linguistics under the Faculty of Arts at the University of Dhaka was held on May 12, 2026, at the Arts Building (Kala Bhaban).

The keynote paper was presented by Professor Dr. Erika Sandman from the Department of Linguistics at the University of Helsinki. The title of the paper presented by her was: "The Grammar of Kniwledge in Sino-Tibetan: A Typologival Overview."

In her discussion, she shed light on research within the typological framework of linguistics. As part of this, she explained how evidentiality functions as a grammatical element within the Sino-Tibetan language family.

The Seminar was convened by Professor Dr. Syed Shahrier Rahman of the Department of Linguistics. The event was attended by faculty members and students from various academic years. A lively question and answer session followed the presentation, where participants raised insightful questions and the speaker responded in detail.
