On January 5, 2026, a laptop distribution program was held at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Dhaka, to support underprivileged students and promote digital inclusion. Under this initiative, 11 laptops and 20 backpacks were distributed among deserving students of the department.

The laptops were generously provided by the Rotary Club of Dhaka Mega City and BD Finance PLC initiated through the efforts of the CSEDU Alumni Association (CSEDUAA). The program was presided over by Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Razzaque, Chairman of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Dhaka. Mr. Md. Kyser Hamid, Managing Director and CEO of BD Finance PLC, Mr. Md. Abdus Salam Khan,FCS, Company Secretary & CFO of BD Submarine Cable Ltd., Mr. Mohammad Bul Hassan, Company Secretary & CFO of Siemens Bangladesh Limited and Mr. Hasan Ahmed Chowdhury, President of Rotary Club of Dhaka Mega City for their excellent support and commitment to empowering students through education. Special appreciation is also extended to Mr. Faisal Hossain, General Secretary of CSEDU Alumni Association, were present at the event.

The students who received laptops under this program were Koushik Ghosh (1st Year), Md. Abu Jafor (1st Year), Hasan Kabir Ansu (1st Year), Muhammad Jiyad Hasan (1st Year), Md. Shahadat Hossain Riyad (2nd Year), Swarlok Samadder (2nd Year), Soumik Deb (2nd Year), Md. Shakin Alam Kabbo (3rd Year), Rhituraj Talukder (4th Year), Sojib Ahmed (2nd Year), and Sara Binte Shafayet (2nd Year).

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering sincerely thanks the Rotary Club of Dhaka Mega City, BD Finance PLC, and the CSEDU Alumni Association for their continued support in promoting educational equity and ensuring digital access for underprivileged students.
