Seminar on “Shaping Our Future: Preparing Ourselves in the Era of AI” held at Dept. of CSE, University of Dhaka
A seminar titled "Shaping Our Future: Preparing Ourselves in the Era of AI" was held on 8 September 2026 at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Dhaka. The event was chaired by Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Razzaque, Chairman of the department.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr.-Ing. Rahamatullah Khondoker, Professor and Head of the Cybersecurity and Digitalization Lab at Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM), University of Applied Sciences, Frankfurt, Germany.
Dr. Khondoker spoke about how AI is transforming education, research, and the workplace. He stressed the importance of AI literacy, critical thinking, creativity, and ethical use of technology, urging participants to see AI as a tool for enhancing human potential rather than replacing it.
He explored emerging opportunities of higher studies and research at universities in Germany, short research visit and internship opportunities for students and collaborative research project opportunities.
The seminar was attended by faculty members, students, officers, and staff of the department. The event provided an engaging platform for participants to gain insights into the opportunities and challenges associated with AI and to reflect on how individuals and educational institutions can prepare themselves for an increasingly AI-driven future.
