
Arpan Saha, a student of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) of Dhaka University attended the Optica (Formerly OSA) Student Leadership Program, held in Denver, Colorado, USA, in October this year. It may be mentioned that, Arpan Saha and Mohammad Ajmain Fatin, two students of DU Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) Department were selected for the Optica Student Leadership Program. Following the selection, Arpan Saha participated in the program and represented the University of Dhaka. The highly competitive program was sponsored by Optica, with all expenses covered.
Arpan Saha was the only student from Bangladesh to represent the country at this international forum. Organized by Optica, the Student Leadership Program brings together the top 100 selected student representatives from around the world. It focuses on leadership development through interactive workshops, group discussions, and training on communication, teamwork, and service-oriented leadership.
Alongside the leadership program, Arpan Saha attended and presented his research at the Frontiers in Optics + Laser Science (FiO+LS) conference. FiO+LS is one of the flagship international conferences in optics and photonics. The conference provided opportunities to engage with leading researchers, faculty members, and industry professionals in optical science and laser technologies.
Arpan Saha’s participation reflects the University of Dhaka’s commitment to academic excellence, research, leadership development, and global engagement.
